Foreigner has confirmed that a musical reinterpreting the music of their 40 year career, titled Jukebox Hero, will premier next summer. The story is written by British team Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, the masterminds behind Across The Universe.

The drama, described as "a coming-of-age" story and tied in with the band's 40th anniversary celebrations, begins with the closing of a factory in Pennsylvania and a famous former resident is asked to return to his hometown to help out in the wake, forcing him to face his past demons. Jukebox Hero will contain 16 of the band's classic songs, including "I Wanna Know What Love Is", "Cold As Ice", Waiting For A Girl Like You", "Hot Blooded", and the title track of the show.

The musical will premiere at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary from Aug. 10 to 12 before moving to the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton from Aug. 16 to 19, 2018. Tickets are on sale now.

As for the band, they are currently touring in honor of their 40th anniversary around Canada and more dates confirmed for 2018. Some celebratory shows have featured the reunion of some past band members including former singer Lou Gramm.
