Metallica is currently working on deluxe versions of "...And Justice For All" and "Metallica (The Black Album)" and is asking fans for their help putting the new sets together.

The band stated in a social media post, "With the deluxe box sets of 'Kill 'Em All' and 'Ride The Lightning' behind us, and 'Master Of Puppets' less than a month away, it's time to start trudging forward with '…And Justice For All' and 'Metallica'.

"As you may remember, we asked you for help in putting together the first three box sets and, to make sure there's a fan footprint on all of these releases, we'll be doing that again! We're looking for anything and everything you might have from August 1987 through July 1993… photos (taken by you!), flyers, ticket stubs, backstage passes and whatever other mementos you may have from that time. Also, if you happened to interview James [Hetfield], Lars [Ulrich], Kirk [Hammett] or Jason [Newsted] during that time and still have the recording, please let us know!

"Make your mark on these albums by emailing us at submissions@metclub.com to share your story and receive more info about submitting these little pieces of history. Nothing is too small or too trivial… share your archives with your fellow fans and have some fun with us walking down memory lane."

A reissue of "...And Justice For All" has many fans hopeful that Jason Newsted's bass lines will finally be heard. Though the album has been labelled as one of the band's classic albums, it has also been criticized since it's 1988 release for the bass lines being lost in the final mix. Fingers often point at drummer Lars Ulrich's specific vision of how his drums should sound for the mix mishap.

This was Newsted's first album with Metallica after replacing the late Cliff Burton in 1986. It was also the first album by the band to sell over a million copies and produced their first radio hit, "One", which was also the basis of their first music video. The album famous lost the "Best Hard Rock/Metal Album" Grammy to Jethro Tull's "Crest of a Knave"

"Metallica (The Black Album)" went 16 times platinum by 2014 and surpassed Shania Twain's "Come On Over" as the best sellilng album of the SoundScan era. It is by far the most recognized Metallica album.

Are you planning on picking up any of the reissue/deluxe albums? Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Metallica, but they obviously have a large following to have stood the test of time and I'm sure those fans are excited to have updated versions of Metallica's vast catalog.
