Smith + Myers, the side project of Shinedown's Brent Smith and Zack Myers, will go out on an acoustic tour this winter.
The duo made their debut with a pair of EP's featuring cover songs that were voted on by fans via Facebook. The songs covered a wide range of musical styles, including The Clash's "London Calling," Otis Redding's "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay," and Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive", among others. The acoustic take on these songs were given a natural flow with Smith's vocals and Myer's guitar playing.
Shinedown fans can expect new music from the whole band in the near future. Smith spoke of new material that had been written and that the new album was being worked on already. “We started the sixth Shinedown record the middle of [this] January,” Smith says. “We entered the process of writing in the studio...Right now, we’re working in Charleston, S.C.” He went on to say that they had some other dates to take care of, but they would be working diligently on the new album after they finished those shows.
Confirmed Smith + Myers dates are as follows:

I will be catching this show at the Dec. 18th show with a friend. I know the first 2 shows at The Machine Shop sold out in a matter of minutes, so I think that shows that after 15 years, Shinedown still has a solid fanbase. Is anyone else planning on catching any shows on this tour?
